Featured Job Post: Editor/Copywriter/Content Manager at Salem Health

Salem Health is seeking an editor/copywriter/content management coordinator to join its Salem, Oregon, staff. Salem, the capital and second largest city of Oregon, is located in the Oregon Willamette Valley—within easy driving distance of ocean beaches, mountain peaks, and famous wineries. Salem Health includes Salem Hospital (a not-for-profit, 454-bed acute-care Magnet facility), West Valley Hospital (a critical-access hospital), and Willamette Health Partners (a hospital-based medical group).
The editor/copywriter/content manager is a newly created position that will work with the marketing and communications teams to provide a unified voice for print, marketing, and Web media. Responsibilities will include developing, researching, writing, and editing copy; coordinating production, including distributing proofs to clients and proofreading content before printing; and helping to determine editorial direction and maintain editorial policies.
This full-time editing and copywriting position requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field, and five years’ experience as a “journalist/copywriter in a fast-paced environment.” Experience must include working with MS Office and writing for publication, advertising, print collateral, and the Web. The successful candidate will be able to evaluate brand positioning and articulate a unified brand voice to diverse target groups, organize and prioritize well, demonstrate superb written and spoken communication skills, work well as team leader or peer, and have a general knowledge of healthcare operations. The yearly salary range for the position is between $56,000 and $80,000.
