Featured Job Post: Editor/Director of Media Relations at ACDI/VOCA

ACDI/VOCA is seeking an editor/director of media relations to join its Washington, D.C., team. ACDI/VOCA (pronounced A-C-D-I-vōca) is a nonprofit international economic development organization that promotes opportunities for “cooperatives, enterprises and communities through the innovative application of sound business practice.” ACDI, Agricultural Cooperative Development International, was formed in 1963; VOCA began in 1970 as the Volunteer Development Corps. The organizations merged in 1997.
The editor/director of media relations will work in the Public Relations and Communication department, editing and writing proposals, reports, manuals, articles, press releases, position statements, and similar materials. Other responsibilities will include media placement in international and trade media, staff training in media outreach and crisis communication, and event and story coverage (some travel required).
This full-time editor/media relations position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; five years’ experience in international development communications; experience with a media monitoring service (such as PRNewswire); and mastery of SEO writing. Other desirable experience includes InDesign, Dreamweaver, social media, and internal knowledge management systems.
