Featured Job Post: Journal Production Editors for Dartmouth Journal Services

Dartmouth Journal Services, the journal editorial and production specialists of the Sheridan Group, is seeking several journal production editors to join its Waterbury, Vermont, staff or to telecommute. Dartmouth Journal Services manages projects from manuscript to publication for the scientific, technical, and medical journals publishing community. 

Journal production editors will coordinate the copyediting, composition, page layout, and publishing-file preparation services for journals projects. Responsibilities will include working with freelance copyeditors, copyediting manuscripts, reviewing advertising materials, and preparing electronic files; tracking project materials, maintaining project databases, and preparing project documentation; reviewing work by and corresponding with assistants, other editors, authors, compositors, offshore partners, and manufacturers. 

This full-time production-editing position requires a bachelor’s degree or at least three years of editorial/composition/publishing and customer service experience. The successful candidate will be proficient with computer and office skills, familiar with journal style elements and production, and able to maintain professional and positive relationships.
