Kim Runciman

Kim Runciman is a copy editor with the online magazine Slate and edits the Dear Prudence column. She began as a writer and editor for a trade magazine before moving into corporate communications with outdoor-sports retailer REI. Following that, she was the editor of a natural foods and nutrition newspaper, then switched gears to return to copyediting for worldwide branding and packaging design firm Landor Associates, where her primary client was Microsoft. In between, she has edited many different types of texts, from short fiction to book manuscripts. She currently instructs about editing and careers in the field for a local adult-education school and for the University of Washington’s editing certificate program.
