National Grammar Day Haiku Contest Is Back
The Copyediting team is unabashedly enthusiastic about National Grammar Day and all of the good-natured creativity that leads up to it. We’ll have our own contest to announce soon (watch this space! ... your chance to win! ... etc.). Like you, we’re eagerly awaiting the final installment of John McIntyre’s Grammarnoir series, and now we’re happy to have an immediate outlet for the National Grammar Day excitement:
Excitement that built
Through three parts of Grammarnoir
Bursts into haiku.
That’s right—the National Grammar Day Tweeted Haiku Contest is on!
Simply tweet your haiku by 10 p.m. EST Saturday, March 2, with the hashtag #GrammarDay, and contest organizer Mark Allen will make sure it’s entered for the judges' consideration. Use slashes or commas to separate the lines of your haiku, and give some consideration to theme and form for the best chance to win prizes and the esteem of your peers. See the post on MarkAllenEditing.com for more details. Winners will be announced on the morning of National Grammar Day, Monday, March 4.
March forth for grammar!
