Condé Nast is seeking a recipe editor to join its Bon Appétit team in New York. From its 1909 purchase of Vogue to its 2012 launch of 12 digital magazines optimized for the iPad, Condé Nast is a heritage-rich and award-winning publisher that has more than 20 print magazines, 27 websites, and over 50 apps. Online and in print, Bon Appétit “celebrates the world of great food and the pleasure of sharing it with others.” The print magazine has a total circulation of more than 1.5 million, with a total print audience of 6.6 million.
The recipe editor will edit magazine and Web recipes for clarity, fit, voice, and style while reporting to the food editor and working closely with the test kitchen staff. The editor will also manage the transmission of proofs and galleys and write sidebars, hednotes, and other display copy.
This full-time, onsite position requires 5 years’ experience line editing magazine or cookbook recipes, a background in food, and proficiency with K4 publishing software. Candidates with a culinary degree will be preferred.
