Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a senior editor to join its team in Missouri. The U.S. Federal Reserve is made up of twelve regional banks. The Kansas City Fed serves district ten: Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and parts of Missouri and New Mexico.
The senior editor will provide editorial support for the Kansas City Fed’s research publications, including the quarterly Economic Review and the Macro Bulletin. Support will include editing and rewriting texts, monitoring schedules, and supervising both editorial and design production. In addition, the senior editor will edit and rewrite speeches and other communications, coach and assist subject-matter experts on clear communication techniques, and conduct seminars on clear writing.
This fulltime position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, business, or business writing; 3 years’ experience in business, professional, or academic publishing, or teaching of technical writing; and a basic understanding of banking, financial markets, macroeconomics, and monetary policy. Candidates with advanced degrees will be preferred.
