Today is the last day of July. Although meteorologically, we still have more than a month and a half before summer ends, for many young people who will soon return to school (or who already have!), the end of July signals the end of summer break and the beginning of fall classes.
For some people, the start of a new school year is a joyous occasion, an opportunity to see old friends, to make new ones, and to grow as a person. To others, the first day of school isn't as much a new beginning as an end to carefree days with few restrictions.
But time moves on regardless of how you feel about it. When July is done, summer is done, and fall classes begin.
Today's doublet game marks that transition into a new school year. To solve the doublets puzzle, start with the word JULY. Use the first clue to create a new four-letter word by changing only a single letter of the word before it. Continue this process word by word and clue by clue to get yourself from JULY, to the month being DONE, and finally to FALL.
