Would all the freelancers who don’t need to expand their network please raise their hands?
The American Copy Editors Society will hold its 2017 conference in blissfully warm St. Petersburg, Florida. (Those of us from the frozen North thank the conference organizers!) While the list of sessions looks amazing and I’m eager to hear what keynote speaker Anne Curzan has to say, for me the highlight of the conference is always our Happy Hour.
Whether you’re attending the conference or not, you’re invited to attend our happy hour. It’s a great opportunity to meet other freelance editors and catch up with old friends. Share experiences, ask questions, and swap business cards—all while feasting on the food we provide for you and the drinks you can purchase at the bar. You might even meet an editing hero or two, and you’ll get a chance to win some word-nerdy prizes.
No RSVP is needed and there’s no entrance fee, thanks to our event sponsors. Just show up between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, at The Tavern at Bayboro, 120 6th Ave. South, a short walk from the hotel. Did I mention that it will be warm?

And don’t forget your business cards!
